We will be studying the Gospel of John, using the “Journey Through the Bible” series from Cokesbury. We will also be using the The Visual Bible: The Gospel of John which is a word for word portrayal, in video form, the Gospel of John as read/narrated by Christopher Plummer (the father from The Sound of Music).
WHO WE ARE:
We are a mission-oriented congregation who answers the call of Jesus Christ to be intentionally focused outward to our community and the world, especially to the least, the last and the lost. We support local needs through our giving to and particpation with the Hands Across Mathews, The Gloucester-Mathews Free Clinic, The Mataponi Healing Eagle Clinic, and other groups that help in our local community.
Our strong and vibrant youth group particpates in an annual Mission Trips and have helped people in Georgia, Tennessee and other places in the South East. We offer clothes closets with free clothes 2 or 3 times a year. We participate in Samaritan's Purse Christmas Shoe-Box Ministires, Kits for Conference, and baking for the CHAIROS Prison Ministries.
We are a Bible-believing, enthusiastic congregation that loves to get together in the House of Lord and out into the world in mission. Our Sunday School is at 9:45 a.m. We have a snack fellowship between Sunday School and our 11:00 a.m. worship service. We are fully accessible with a elevator to ALL LEVELS of the church. We love children, have children's church, and have a special time in each worship service just for children.
If you would like to be a part of making a difference in the world and in the community around us, come and be a part of the Locust Grove Family.
